Fall 2024 Term
Welcome to the 2024-25 academic year! The Drexel Writing Center is here to support you in all of your writing and communications work. We offer support in a variety of ways:
Peer Readers
Undergraduate students can receive support in developing their writing skills by working one-to-one or in small groups with a peer trained in helping them to develop as writers. Appointments can take place in-person in the writing center or in synchronous online sessions. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged to ensure you can meet with someone when it is most beneficial to you.
Peer Readers are also available to work with classes on peer review techniques and give workshops throughout the year on topics ranging from (Ethical) Use of AI in Writing to Linguistic Diversity.
For questions about the Peer Reader program, please contact Janel McCloskey at jfp48@drexel.edu.
Graduate Writing Consultants
Graduate students can work one-to-one with well-trained peer writing consultants skilled in helping students develop the high stakes writing and composition projects required of graduate study. Appointments can take place in-person in the writing center or in synchronous online sessions. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged to ensure you can meet with someone when it is most beneficial to you.
Long-term tutoring, in which a students meets at a set time with the same consultant over a period of time, is also available. Please reach out to Dr. Llana Carroll for more information at lc3382@drexel.edu.
Multilingual Writing Consultants
Multilingual students who prefer to work with a consultant skilled in acquiring academic English as another language may want to work with a multilingual specialist. Appointments can take place in-person in the writing center or in synchronous online sessions. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged to ensure you can meet with someone when it is most beneficial to you.
